 An expanded line of 0.080" Mini-Pitch timing belts from Stock Drive Products are said to be the smallest pitch ever to go into production. They were designed for light duty power transmission synchronization, metering and conveying applications wherever space is at a premium. The 0.080" belts have twice the horsepower rating as compared with the closest competitive miniature timing belts. Because it is the smallest timing belt available there are a greater number of teeth engaged on the pulleys at all times and therefore larger transmission ratios can be obtained. As an example, an 0.080" belt drive can have a speed ratio of 1:8 with a center distance of only 1.5".
We offer these belts as the A 6Z16, A 6Z16M Series in Neoprene and also as the A 6G16, A 6G16M, A 6B16, A 6B16M Series in Polyurethane material. The usual strength of these belts is attributed to continuous helically wound fiberglass cords for Neoprene body and polyester or Kevlar cords for Polyurethane body which also serve to eliminate stretch and reduce fatigue. Neoprene or Polyurethane is molded around these cords to make the teeth and body of the belt on homogeneous unit. The Neoprene body belt teeth are faced with special extra durable wear resistant nylon fabric that eliminates the need for lubrication and protects the teeth. The 0.080" Pitch belt design locates the pitch line of the drive outside the O.D. of the pulley so that the circular pitch is not affected. This virtually eliminates vibration and backlash while ensuring constant angular velocity.
There are 238 Mini-Pitch belt sizes stocked by SDP in 1/8", 3/16", 1/4", 5/16" and 3/8" widths in inch and also 3, 4. 5, 6, 8 and 9.5 mm widths in metric. Neoprene body material belt lengths range from 36 grooves through 648 grooves or expressed in pitch length, 2.88" through 51.84". List price ranges from $2.36 each for the shortest belt to $8.32 each for the longest. Polyurethane body material belt lengths range from 30 grooves through 515 grooves or expressed in pitch length, 2.40" through 41.20". List prices range from $4.22 each for shortest belt to $5.25 each for the longest.
