One style of the square hole sleeves, designated as A 7C19-T, comes with a tapped hole at one end to receive a supplied backup screw. The second style, designated as A 7C19-P, has a square hole end-to-end without a thread for a backup screw. The square holes in the sleeves range from .128 in. to 1.260 in. across flats, designed to hold tool-bit sizes from 1/8-in. to 1-1/4 in. square. Outer diameters of the sleeves range from .2187 in. to 2.000 in., with tolerances held to .0005 in. Material is cold-rolled steel 1117, hardened when requested. Concentricity is 0.003-in. expanded series of sleeves with square holes is available in two styles
from Stock Drive Products. The sleeves have multiple uses in
machine shops where they are employed as collars to hold tool bits in
lathes or drill presses. They are also used for joining two square rods
together, holding the rods by set screws or by welding.
