A new series of slit type flexible couplings from Sterling Instrument (an ISO 9001 manufacturer) is available from off-the-shelf stock in 3 styles: split hub, set screw, or keyway types. They are constructed from a single piece of aluminum or stainless steel with spiral cuts to allow for common types of shaft misalignment. These metric couplings offer zero backlash and are designed for use in many varied applications including: encoders, measuring equipment, positioning systems, robotics, servo systems, tachometers, and test equipment.
