New precision planetary gearheads from Sterling Instrument feature NEMA standard sizes 17, 23, 34, and 42 incorporating hardened planet gears machined to AGMA 12 precision gear tolerances. These rugged units identified as Series S9117T-, S9123T-S9134T- and S9142T- provide torque multiplication, speed reduction, inertia matching, and resolution enhancement for D.C. servo, stepper and brushless servomotors.
Each NEMA size is available with ultralow backlash single- and double-stage reductions with gear ratios ranging from 3:1 to 100:1. They all have anodized aluminum housings and sealed ball bearings for maintenance-free operation with no lubrication required. Shaft diameters range from .250" to .625"; and all units include a precision balanced clamp-on pinion. A woodruff key and mounting screws are also included.
